Chief Operating Officer

Rui began working in the wind industry in 2004, initially involved in the technical and commercial management of training centres.

Over the years, he has been involved in the development and construction of more than 1GW of wind power generation capacity. He has also gained experience in leading teams managing operational assets across multi-geographies focusing on operational excellence, performance improvement and asset lifetime maximisation, including repowering, overpowering and project hybridisation.

He joined Ventient Energy as Chief Operating Officer in 2020 from Iberwind and now leads a number of departments responsible for the operational performance of our assets across Europe including Asset Management, Technical, Asset Performance, Health & Safety and Quality & Environment, Commercial & Procurement, Business Integrations and Organic Business Development.
